  1. Two words: White vinegar.
A cup standing up in the bottom of the dishwasher gets rid of calcium deposits. a couple tablespoons in a rusted cast iron or stainless steel skillet will make the rust scrub right off. It gives potato salad and extra yum. Heck, distill some herbs in a small bottle and make your own fance salad dressing. Butt you could post a whole page on uses of white vinegar. and it's cheap. it was like $1.87 a gallon the other day. Cheaper than gas. And speaking of vinegar, no shit, apple cider vinegar took my husband's warts off his hands. If you are interested I will tell you how.

  2. My oldest daughter Lexi is in a crazy arts and crafts phase right now, and after several discussions about why she can't take a whole package of brand new paper and cut it into tiny pieces, and eventually throw them away, we have come up with a compromise. We now have a recycled art bin where we keep items that can be used for making art. We include school papers that are blank on the back, or could be cut up, scraps of paper, felt, cardboard leftover from other projects, and anything else that might be useful. If I have an old shirt that is unable to be donated, I can cut the buttons off to use, or even use the fabric. If my younger daughter tears the pages of a book, it goes in. Lexi loves to pull out the bin, get a glue stick and some scissors, and have hours of entertainment.

  3. DIY skunk bath
1 quart bottle of hydrogen peroxide
    1/4 cup baking soda
    couple squirts of dishwashing liquid
The BEST at neutralizing skunk odor..cheap, too!
I always keep a bottle of hydrogen peroxide and a small box of baking soda under the bathroom sink for emergencies.
